Cleaning & sealing

A fresh finish without a full replacement.

A driveway does not always need replacing to look new again. A professional clean, re-sand and re-seal lifts years of grime, green and weathering, restores the colour and protects the surface for years to come.

We clean and seal block paving, imprinted concrete, natural stone and more, and re-sand block joints to lock the blocks and keep weeds out.

Sealing an imprinted concrete driveway

What we do

We jet-wash the surface, treat weeds and algae, re-sand or re-point the joints where needed, then apply a quality sealant that brings back the colour and shields against the weather.

  • Colour-restoring seal

Why seal a driveway

Sealing locks in jointing sand, resists oil and staining, brings imprinted concrete back to a rich wet-look, and makes the drive far easier to keep clean. It is the cheapest way to add years to a driveway.

  • Restores faded colour
  • Locks jointing sand in
  • Resists oil and stains
  • Easier to keep clean

In depth

Driveway Cleaning and Sealing in Wisbech

A tired driveway usually needs a proper clean before anything else. We pressure wash block paving, imprinted concrete and slabs to lift years of dirt, algae and tyre marks, then let the surface dry fully. Around Wisbech and the low-lying Fens, damp conditions and a high water table encourage moss and green growth, so a thorough wash often restores far more of the original colour than homeowners expect.

Once block paving is clean, the joints need refilling with fresh kiln-dried sand. This locks the blocks together, steadies the surface underfoot and helps keep weeds and moss from creeping back between the joints. Skipping this step is a common reason a driveway loosens and spreads over time. We brush sand fully into every joint, then treat stubborn weed and moss growth so the finish stays tidier for longer.

Pattern imprinted concrete relies on its sealer to look its best and shrug off the weather. Over the years that seal wears thin, the colour dulls and the surface can feel rough or start to flake. Re-sealing restores the depth of colour, adds a subtle sheen and puts a protective layer back over the concrete. On Fen driveways that face plenty of rain and frost, a sound seal makes a real difference to how the drive ages.

How often you clean and seal depends on the surface, the traffic and how shaded the drive sits. As a rough guide, a wash every year or two keeps most driveways looking sharp, while imprinted concrete benefits from re-sealing every few years once the previous coat wears. We are happy to take a look, tell you honestly what the surface needs and put it in a free written quote.

Good to know

Common questions

How often should I seal my driveway?

Every three to five years for imprinted concrete, and as needed for block paving. Regular sealing keeps the colour rich and the surface protected.

Can you get oil stains out?

Most surface staining and green growth comes up with a professional clean. Deep old oil stains may not fully disappear, but we will get it looking far better and can advise honestly.

Will sealing stop weeds?

Sealing over freshly re-sanded joints locks the sand and makes it much harder for weeds to take hold. It is one of the best ways to keep a block drive clean.

Do you clean patios too?

Yes, we clean and seal patios and paths as well as driveways. Ask us to quote for the lot while we are there.

Will pressure washing damage my block paving?

Not when it is done correctly. Too much pressure held too close can strip jointing sand and pit the surface of the blocks, so technique matters. We wash at a sensible distance and pressure to lift dirt and growth without harming the paving, then resand the joints afterwards. Done properly, a clean lifts years of grime and leaves the blocks looking close to new without causing damage.

Do I really need to reseal imprinted concrete?

It is not compulsory, but it is well worth it. The sealer is what protects the colour and surface from rain, frost and UV, and once it wears the concrete looks dull and can begin to flake. Re-sealing every few years keeps the pattern crisp and the colour rich, and protects the money you spent on the drive in the first place. We can tell you if yours is due.

Can you remove oil stains and moss from an old drive?

In most cases, yes. A thorough pressure wash lifts algae, moss and general grime, and we treat weed and moss growth so it is slower to return. Deep oil stains that have soaked in for years can be harder to shift completely, and we will always be straight with you about what a clean can realistically achieve before we start.
