How we handle the information you share with us, in plain English.

Urban Planet Construction is a family-run driveways and groundworks business based in Upwell near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire (PE14), covering Wisbech and a 40-mile radius across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire.
We are the data controller for the personal information you provide through this website. You can reach us on 07951 022829 or at UrbanPlanetConstruction@outlook.com.
When you complete an enquiry or quote form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, phone number, postcode, the service you are interested in and any message. If you call or email us, we keep a record of that contact so we can help you.
Our website host also records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit in its server logs. This is used to keep the site running and secure, and is not used to identify you personally.
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a free at-home visit, prepare and discuss a quote, and carry out any work you ask us to.
Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services and, where you go on to book work, taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell or rent your data.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and communicate with you: our website and enquiry forms are hosted by Netlify, and our email is provided by Microsoft (Outlook). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data protection terms.
We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights.
We keep your enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and provide any work, and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally up to 24 months, in case you contact us again and for our own business records. After that we delete or anonymise them.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would always prefer the chance to put things right first.
This website uses only the technologies necessary for it to work and does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. See our Cookies notice for more detail.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or the law. Any updates will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
