Urban Planet Construction is a family-run driveways and groundworks business based in Upwell near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire (PE14), covering Wisbech and a 40-mile radius across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

When you complete an enquiry or quote form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, phone number, email address if you provide one, postcode, the service you are interested in, the size and timescale of the job and any message. If you call or email us, we keep a record of that contact so we can help you.
Our website host also records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit in its server logs. This is used to keep the site running and secure, and is not used to identify you personally.
If you arrive from one of our adverts we also record which advert and which page brought you, and our advertising tools set identifiers in your browser as described under Advertising and measurement below.
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a free at-home visit, prepare and discuss a quote, and carry out any work you ask us to.
Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services and, where you go on to book work, taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell or rent your data.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and communicate with you: our website and enquiry forms are hosted by Netlify, and our email is provided by Microsoft (Outlook). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data protection terms.
We also use Google Tag Manager to manage the measurement tags on this site, and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Facebook and Instagram) to measure the results of our advertising. What is shared with Meta, and how, is set out under Advertising and measurement below. Meta acts as an independent controller for its own purposes in respect of that data.
We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights.
Our providers may store or process your information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for more detail using the contact details above.
We keep your enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and provide any work, and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally up to 24 months, in case you contact us again and for our own business records. After that we delete or anonymise them.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would always prefer the chance to put things right first.
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we need to know which adverts actually produce enquiries so we do not waste money on the ones that do not. To do that we use the Meta pixel, loaded through Google Tag Manager.
The pixel sets two first-party cookies in your browser, _fbp and _fbc, and sends Meta a record of the pages you view on this site together with your IP address, browser type and those identifiers. If you submit an enquiry form, we also send Meta a record of that enquiry through its Conversions API. That record includes a scrambled (hashed) version of the details you entered, such as your email address, phone number, name and postcode.
Hashing turns each detail into a fixed string of characters that cannot be read or reversed back into the original. Meta compares those strings against the ones it holds for its own users to work out whether the person who enquired had seen one of our adverts. Meta does not receive your details in a readable form from us, and we do not receive any information about your Facebook or Instagram account.
Our lawful basis for this measurement is our legitimate interest in understanding whether our advertising works and in not spending money on adverts that do not. These two cookies are not needed for the website to function, and you can refuse or remove them at any time: block or delete cookies in your browser, use your browser's tracking protection, or change your advert settings in your Facebook or Instagram account. Doing any of these will not stop you using this website or affect the service you get from us.
We also use Simple Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and collects no personal data. See our Cookies notice for the full list of what is set and how long it lasts.
